This 5-dose vaccine schedule protects mothers and their future newborns from tetanus.

Dose When to Get It Protection Duration
TT 1 First visit None
TT 2 4 weeks after TT1 3 years
TT 3 6 months after TT2 5 years
TT 4 1 year after TT3 10 years
TT 5 1 year after TT4 Full reproductive lifespan

Completing all 5 doses provides lifelong immunity for the mother and is essential for newborn protection.


Women of reproductive age are advised to seek tetanus immunization at healthcare facilities.
